Rebreather Forum 3 Online
In May 2012, experts from around the world gathered in Orlando, Fla., for Rebreather Forum 3.0. Their
goal was to examine the state of rebreather use and develop protocols and recommendations for improving
user safety. DAN, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and the American Academy of
Underwater Sciences (AAUS) organized the three-day forum with the support of dive-industry leaders.
Rebreather specialists, manufacturers, educators and scientists discussed the state of testing, training,
protocols and design toward the goal of establishing a consensus on the steps necessary to enhance
the safety of the sport. These in-depth presentations are now available on DAN’s YouTube channel,
“DiversAlertNetworkTV.”

DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries
Your buddy surfaces exhibiting symptoms you suspect might indicate decompression illness (DCI).
Do you know what to do?
The DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries course can prepare you for this situation.
The course is designed to educate and train both divers and nondivers in the use of oxygen as
first aid for suspected dive injuries. In addition, the course teaches participants how to recognize
DCI and provides detailed recommendations for responding to and managing these injuries.
The DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries course is designed to:
• Train participants to recognize signs of DCI.
• Teach proper methods of providing emergency oxygen.
• Increase participants’ preparedness for and confidence to manage dive accidents.
