the new standards. Engage with us in an open forum to discuss the updated
programs and learn how to enhance your courses.
2014 DAN Forum/Update
This session is the annual education update for DAN Instructors/Instructor
Trainers. It will include an open forum discussion to provide feedback on the
new programs. Registration is requested, but not required.
DAN Examiner Meeting
Invitation-only event for DAN Examiners.
Diving First Aid for Professional Divers (DFA Pro)
This certification upgrade session is for DAN Instructors/Instructor Trainers
currently teaching DFA Pro. It provides the necessary training for added
components including advanced oxygen skills, neurological assessment and
CPR health care provider level skills. Registration is required.
HMLI for DAN Instructors
For current DAN Instructors/Instructor Trainers teaching HMLI who would like
to know more. This session will provide more in-depth information to enhance
your ability to teach the course. Registration required.
DEMP Instructor Trainer Workshop
Course includes Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries, Neurological
Assessment, Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid, First Aid for Hazardous
Marine Life Injuries and Dive Emergency Management Provider (DEMP).
Registration is required.

Patty Seery is Deputy Director of
Education for DAN. She holds a Master
of Health Science Education as well as
two health care provider licenses. She is
an avid diver, a scuba instructor trainer
and has been involved with DAN diving
first aid courses for more than 10 years.
Brian Wake
Director of Education
Brian Wake is Director of Education
at Divers Alert Network. He has taught
recreational scuba diving classes since
1990 and dive safety programs for DAN
since 1995. Wake is a scuba instructor
trainer and has been a DAN Examiner
since 2005.
